Five groups of inputs
A scenario may consider earnings, valuation, financial position, price momentum and external conditions.
- Revenue, operating profit, EPS and their stability.
- P/E, P/B, dividend yield, historical ranges and peers.
- Equity, debt, cash and operating cash flow.
- 52-week return and distance from recent highs and lows.
- Rates, exchange rates, the economy, input costs and industry demand.
Three scenarios
A bullish scenario assumes better earnings or margins and possibly a higher valuation multiple. A central scenario uses more moderate assumptions. A bearish scenario considers setbacks and a lower multiple. Each outcome depends on its assumptions.
Why forecasts miss
Unexpected events, changes in monetary policy, company news and market sentiment can shift both earnings and valuation. Review data dates and sensitivities, and never regard an AI scenario as a guaranteed future price.
Market and financial data may be delayed. Verify original company filings and make your own investment decisions.
